Another laid-back, refreshing song from Ken Hirai, Kimi wa Tomodachi is an acapella song that basically tells what a friend is - from a child’s point of view. You know, when people get older they tend to…how do you say this…look at friendship in a more complicated way. Those who ‘pose’ as a friend enumerates the good they’ve done to you and how much you owe them, they are good to you when they need something from you or asks you a favor but when you need something or in when you’re in a tight situation, they’re never there. I think friendship is as simple as being there for a person, appreciating and accepting who s/he is…that’s another point in the for this song because in its music video shows a story, a friendship between a human boy and a dragon - an odd pair right?! but as what you can see they had problems on their own and being on each others’ side helped them make it through…even against Kami-sama.
I never had many friends, i mean, those who remained aren’t as many as those who came, but just knowing that there are people that you knew way back then, that know every detail about you…its more than enough…and eventhough i don’t have as many friends as other people, well, im talking about quality, not quantity.
